Any party desperate enough to discuss coalition governance with the EFF is due for a tough time as The Fighters are still demanding land expropriation without compensation.

Briefing the media at the IEC results centre on Saturday, Malema said they were open to talks but with some conditions.

The ANC won 40.18% of the vote, almost 10% short of the 50% plus one required to form a government.

Malema who leads a breakaway party founded by former ANC Youth League members is expecting an ANC delegation to knock at his door.

“We are not going into a government of unity, we are not (Nelson) Mandela. We are going to talk with anyone even if Hellen Zille comes, we will entertain her.

“We are not going to call anyone, if they need us they will find us here,” he said.

The EFF wants to be invited to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s government and be given important ministries including National Treasury.

“We will continue fighting for amendment of the Constitution to realise land expropriation without compensation in six months, creation of the state owned bank, nationalisation of the South African reserve bank, cancelation of student debt in 12 months, creation of state pharmaceutical company in 12 months, passing of insourcing bill in 12 months, removal of ‘die stem’ from the national anthem and opening of state clinics for 24 hours seven days a week.”

Malema said even though the party performed poorly, he is not going to resign as party leader.

“I am in charge, that must be clear, I am not going anywhere in terms of politics, health or age.

“Ours is a generational mission, it is not popcorn that will pop and disappear.

“We might have lost two or three of the 44 seats that we occupied. But we are not a declining party; our footprints now exist in all municipalities in the country,” he said.
