Bayern Munich and Real Madrid played out a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena in the first leg of the Uefa Champions League semi-finals.
The hosts dominated the early exchanges, looking sharp creatively from the opening whistle. But it would be the ever reliable Madrid mentality that would get the breakthrough in the tie.
Vinicius Junior opened the scoring midway through the first half, latching onto a spectacular Toni Kroos ball.
After the break, Bayern pounced. Coming back from behind to go in front in the blink of an eye.
First, Leroy Sane struck a bullet past Andriy Lunin. Then, four minutes later, Jamal Musiala won a penalty from Lucas Vasquez.
Harry Kane converted from the spot, meaning that he has now been directly involved in 11 goals in the Champions League this season — the most by any English player in a single edition of the competition.
The England captain, now the joint top scorer in the competition this year, looked forward to putting his side ahead again once Vinicius struck a penalty of his own to level matters for Los Blancos.
The Spanish giants were resilient at the back, though, setting up a Santiago Bernabeu second leg with nothing to separate the sides.
