A viral video from *Podcast and Chill with MacG* has started a massive fight over how the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) treats immigrants.
Podcast host MacGyver Mukwevho, known as MacG, read from the founding rules of the EFF.
The document says the EFF supports all immigrants, even those who do not have legal papers to be in South Africa.
The old document also says immigrants should get healthcare, education and fair treatment.
MacG was surprised in the video. He said the EFF has “never gotten it right” when dealing with immigrants.
The video spread quickly on X. It split South Africans into two angry sides just before the local government elections.
Some people praised the EFF for keeping its promises. But many others were angry. Some critics called the party a disappointment and said voters regret supporting the EFF.
The anger even reached inside the party. One EFF member publicly attacked party leader Julius Malema. The member said Malema acts like a cult leader, changes his views and is damaging the EFF.
EFF supporters fought back against the angry comments online. The supporters shared new party rules from 2024. The supporters said critics are using old information to attack the party.
The newer rules show the EFF now wants tighter control over who enters South Africa. The 2024 rules demand proper registration for immigrants and a new digital system.
Party members said the EFF is not pushing for illegal immigration. The members said the EFF only wants to manage migration in a realistic way.
The fight over borders has become a major issue ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
