The media personality announced that his music show Piano Pulse has been renamed Music Pulse.
The new name signals a big shift. The podcast will no longer focus only on amapiano. It will now cover the wider South African music industry.
The network shared the news on social media. It also confirmed that controversial music executive Nota Baloyi has joined the show as a co host.
In the post, the network wrote: “We have the authority joining Music Pulse @lavidaNOTA; And don’t worry we have the lawyers.”
The joke about lawyers points to Nota’s outspoken views and past legal troubles. His strong opinions have often put him in the spotlight.
Nota also shared his excitement about the new role. He said he was nervous at first. But he felt encouraged by the support he received.
He said there is more to South African music than amapiano. He believes the show will now focus on the business side of the industry.
Nota described Podcast and Chill as the new home of the “Music Business Authority”. He also said he is officially out of retirement.
