Lucasraps pipes up with his first offering of the year

One of the toughest rappers in Mzansi, Lucasraps, released the music video for his hyped hip-hop song “Piped Up (Remix)” on Tuesday.

Running solo, the Durban rapper has released his first single after his debut album 031 To The World was released in October 2021 under Def Jam Recordings Africa.

Lucasraps, originally from Durban, signed with the international label in August last year after spending a lot of time touring and recording with DJ Maphorisa in his recording studio BlaqBoy Music.

Lucasraps, whose real name is Luke Duncan Malong dropped out of high school in 2018 when he was only 17 years old to pursue a professional music career in Johannesburg under BlaqBoy Music.

Now “Piped Up (Remix)” looks and sounds like an opportunity to show off his wealth after signing with the top label Def Jam Africa, or even a warm-up to something big he might release before mid-year.

“Piped Up (Remix)” does not, however, stand up against his previous singles “Slide X Ammo” and “Ah ah ah ah” featuring Blxckie. which gave him his reputation on the rap scene.

Blxckie is still enjoying his holidays after the sold-out December tour for his debut album B4NOW.
