- She now returns on 7 August to host the Vanguard Awards at the Joburg Theatre, honouring women in the industry.
Luthando ‘LootLove’ Shosha is going from award winner to award host in one year.
The broadcaster and media personality will host the 2026 Basadi in Music Vanguard Awards on 7 August at the Joburg Theatre. The Main Awards follow the next night, on 8 August.
Shosha won Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year at the same venue last August, at the 2025 Basadi in Music Awards. Now she returns to lead the ceremony that once handed her the trophy.
The Vanguard Awards honour women working behind the scenes in music, including managers, producers, publicists and journalists. This year’s ceremony includes 28 award categories, honouring women from artists to industry executives. This year also marks the fifth anniversary of the Basadi in Music Awards.
Shosha told The Citizen that returning as host after winning an award herself was “truly an honour.”
“The Basadi in Music Awards has become such an important platform for recognising and celebrating women who continue to shape our industry,” she said.
“I look forward to celebrating the incredible women whose dedication, resilience and excellence continue to move our industry forward.”
Basadi in Music founder and chief executive Hloni Modise-Matau said Shosha was the right choice for the role.
“LootLove embodies everything the Basadi in Music Awards stands for. She is authentic, fearless, accomplished and continues to use her voice to inspire others,” Modise-Matau said.
Public voting for the 2026 Basadi in Music Awards closes on 18 July. Anyone wanting to vote for this year’s nominees needs to do it before then.
