Lerato Kganyago breaks her silence and it gets very real very fast

  • Kganyago defended husband Thami Ndlala after his Johannesburg hotel was named in Madlanga Commission testimony linked to the Armand Swart murder case.
  • She ended the livestream disclosing a phantom pregnancy, adding to at least five miscarriages she has spoken about publicly over the years.

Lerato Kganyago went live on TikTok this week and did not hold back.

The Metro FM presenter spent more than an hour addressing allegations that have followed her family since she and Mpumalanga businessman Thami Ndlala married in 2020. At the centre of it is his Johannesburg hotel, 12 on Hillel Villa and Spa, which was named in testimony at the Madlanga Commission as the venue for an alleged gathering connected to the murder of Armand Swart.

Kganyago pushed back hard. She said her husband had nothing to do with whatever happened at that hotel on that night.

“Strangers come to your hotel that myself and him are not even aware ofโ€ฆ and now we are cursed by people,” she said.

Her account is supported by what investigations found. The man named in commission testimony as Vusi Ndlala turned out to be Vusi Makhubele, a registered guest with no ownership or management ties to the property. He is not related to Thami Ndlala. The shared surname drove public speculation about a family connection, but the two men are unrelated. The hotel denied any illicit meeting took place and confirmed that Kganyago herself holds no ownership interest in the property.

Kganyago said the experience exposed who her real allies were. Celebrities her husband had helped financially stayed silent when the allegations surfaced.

“My man has helped some of your big celebrities financiallyโ€ฆ but none of them will ever protect him,” she said.

“It’s just the two of us.”

She ended the livestream with something more personal. Kganyago disclosed that she had recently experienced a phantom pregnancy, a condition called pseudocyesis in which the body produces real pregnancy symptoms with no foetus present. She has spoken publicly about at least five miscarriages over the years, including one in 2021 at over twelve weeks and another in early 2024, just days before Valentine’s Day.

“The past couple of months have been really tough on my family,” she said.

“What am I doing wrong?”
