Lamiez Holworthy has shared moments from her wedding day with Khuli Chana. She gave fans a closer look at the meaning behind it.
She posted photos and explained her choices. Every detail reflected who she is and where she comes from.
Lamiez said she grew up in a multicultural family. She wanted her wedding to honour both sides.
“For someone who grew up in a cross cultured family… it was extremely important that I embraced both my mom and my biological father whose culture is Tsonga,” she said.
She also praised designer Orapeleng Modutle. She said he helped bring her vision to life and made her feel like “a modern Black Disney Princess”.
Lamiez spoke about her childhood. She said she often felt like she did not belong.
She credited her mother for always standing by her. “My mother fought for me, she chose me over and over again even if it meant losing her own family,” she said.
Her father also played a big role on the day. Both parents walked her down the aisle.
“Then there’s my dad… I am so grateful that we get to experience each other’s genuine love now,” she said.
She joked that she has become a “daddy’s girl”. She said it sometimes makes her mother jealous.
Lamiez ended her message with a reflection on faith. She said she believes life follows a higher plan.
