Howick: The award-winning maskandi artist Khuzani Mpungose turned his wedding into the biggest surprise for his fans and friends as he revealed his bride Nonduduzo Mathenjwa for the first time after years of guessing her identity. Khuzani has made sure that her identity is a secret for a very long time even after he paid the lobola to the Mathenjwa family. In October when he announced their wedding, many people were curious to know the identity of the bride. Even the Mathenjwa and Mpungose families made sure that Nonduduzo’s identity was not known to the public until Thursday when she made her first public appearance at their glitz and glamorous wedding held at the Zunguness which is owned by AmaZulu Soccer Club boss Sandile Zungu. The wedding was fit for a king as Khuzani’s fans claim him to be the King of Maskandi. Celebrities, business people, traditional leaders and the Zulu royal family represented by Queen Nozizwe Mulelo, the second wife, were among the guests. The wedding was full of love and peace as it was led by the Shembe Church while the Christians were given an opportunity to open the ceremony with prayer. The theme was black.
Ngwelezane: The Ngwelezane Regional Court has sentenced two men, Phakamani Eugene Khumalo, 33, and Sandile Mthokozisi Mabuyakhulu, 33, to life and 11 years and six months imprisonment for the murder of a pastor in June 2023 in the Enseleni area. The deceased, John Funa Myaka, was a pastor, a member of African Christian Democratic Party and a ward councillor at the time of his death.
eThekwini: The City of eThekwini Municipality has temporarily closed Bronze Beach and uMhlanga Main Beach following a pump station failure at the Ohlange Wastewater Pump Station which is part of urgent precautionary measures. The failure was caused by the abuse of sewer infrastructure, with foreign objects blocking the system. Meanwhile, 21 beaches remain open and safe for swimming.
