Kwaito star Thebe Mogane is celebrating 30 years in the music industry with a music tour, starting in September.
The “bola buti” hitmaker, who made his mark in the 90s with an original sound and unforgettable tracks, has announced “The Legend Tour” to honour the genre that made him a household name.
The first show will take place at The Ridge Casino in Emalahleni. The night promises a nostalgic celebration of kwaito and South African music culture.
“This tour is not just about me,” Thebe told the Sowetan. “It’s a celebration of our music culture, the fans who have been with us through the years and the legacy of kwaito and South African sounds.”
The line-up is packed with some of the country’s biggest music legends, including Mdu Masilela, Zola, Professor, Unathi, DJ Cleo, Oskido and DJ Ganyani.
Fans can expect live performances, DJ sets and tributes to the rhythms and resilience that have kept kwaito alive for three decades.
For Thebe, it is also a moment to thank the supporters who have been with him from his early hits to today. He says this milestone is a tribute to them as much as it is to his own journey.
