Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has raised concerns about the behaviour of some illegal foreign nationals in South Africa.

According to his spokesperson, the King is angry after being told that illegal foreign nationals are fighting with locals in different areas. He has also been told that some are involved in criminal activities, including selling drugs.

The King has warned local communities not to respond with violence. He says locals should not fight back, as this would mean they are also breaking the law.

King Misuzulu’s spokesperson, Prince Thulani Zulu of the eZibindini Royal House, says the King plans to speak about the issue on Thursday. He will address the matter during the commemoration of the Battle of Isandlwana.

Prince Thulani says people have approached the King to complain about illegal foreign nationals. They told him that some are disrespectful towards locals.

He also says the King was told that some illegal foreign nationals are involved in drug trafficking. Others are said to be selling drugs to young people.

Similar concerns were raised in 2015 by the late King Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu. He spoke about illegal foreign nationals, especially those living in the Durban Point area.

At the time, King Zwelithini said drugs were destroying his nation. His comments were followed by attacks on foreign nationals across South Africa. Those attacks were later described as xenophobic violence.

More recently, an incident was reported in South Beach in Durban. An African National Congress activist known as Chwaitha was accused of fighting with leaders from the March on March movement.

Those involved included Jacinta Ngobese Zuma and King Misuzulu’s representative, Phakelumthakathi Ndabandaba.

The fight reportedly happened at Addington Primary School. It followed disputes over school registration priority for children of foreign nationals.
