- The King and Queen made a surprise joint appearance in Durban months after their cancelled wedding created break-up rumours.
- His Majesty has since been seen with all his wives and fiancée at royal events, changing public perception of his love life.
Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini and his third wife, Queen Nomzamo kaMyeni, stole the spotlight at the official launch of uShaka iLembe Season 2 in Durban.
Their surprise public appearance at the Gateway shopping centre screening of the historical series has put an end to talk that their relationship was over.
The couple arrived together and stood side by side as they met the cast of the series. It was their first major public appearance since the King suddenly cancelled their wedding in January.
The royal wedding was set for 26 January but was called off at the last minute. On that day, instead of tying the knot with Queen Nomzamo, the King sent a large delegation to pay lobola for his fiancée Sihle Mdluli in Mpumalanga.
Their Durban appearance has left many royal watchers rethinking their assumptions. It now seems that King Misuzulu’s romantic life is not in crisis as many had believed.
In fact, the King has been spotted with all his wives and fiancée at major royal events since January.
In one of the most recent public occasions, he appeared with his first wife, Queen Ntokozo kaMayisela of kwaNkomonye Royal Palace, at the Isandlwana commemoration in KwaZulu-Natal.
