Being hurt, cheated on, disappointed and broken by men has forced Kenyan female rapper Noti Flow to become a lesbian.
Noti told Nairobi News this after she posted a picture of her female partner on social media.
“I’ve given up on dating men, I nearly got killed in my last relationship,” she said.
The controversial rapper and She don’t know hitmaker once dated a fellow singer Colonel Mustapha.
The two broke up amidst allegations of abuse from both of them.
Noti said that in most of her relationships with the opposite sex, she was physically abused and also lost her teeth.
“Over the years of dating men, I relised that all they ever wanted was sex and they are also possessive. They cheat all the time but don’t want to be cheated on,” she added.
She adds that she reported she was able to press charges against one of her abusers but was let down by a system that isn’t functional.
“The police told me they won’t open a criminal case because I would go back to my abuser, saying they have seen more such cases.
“It’s so hard to get justice especially if you’re not paying. I can only imagine how many women go through such domestic violence and fail to get justice because of giving up,” she said.
She shared her experiences now because, she said, she had healed.
