India topple England to claim World Cup final spot

It will be India up against South Africa at the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup final in Barbados on Sunday.

Rohit Sharma starred again as his side put England away by 68 runs at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday.

With rain in the air, Jos Buttler won the delayed toss and put the Indians in to bat — something Rohit was happy to do and instantly showed why.

The Indian skipper hit yet another half century as the men in blue reached a target of 171/7 in their 20 overs.

The target looked a competitive one, but ultimately it would be few too many as Axar Patel and his fellow bowlers got the job done.

Axar’s 3/23 to add to his 10-run cameo with the bat and heroics in the field got him the man of the match award. Meanwhile Kuldeep Yadav registered 3/19 to ensure England would be bowled out for just 103.

The defending champions knocked out India back in 2022; and while revenge has been taken, Rohit’s troops will look to put on one more against the only other unbeaten side in the competition: South Africa.

The final kicks off from 16:30 on Saturday live on SuperSport.
