Igniting young minds through literacy

By Razeen Gutta

For Nthabiseng Kgakatsi in the heart of Dealesville, a little bit of inspiration was all it took to ignite the passion for literacy and empowerment.

After a chance encounter with a Nal’ibali poster at a local soup kitchen in 2018, the dedicated story sparker made her dream of working with children a reality.

In her role as a story sparker, Nthabiseng brings tales to life in local languages, creating a passion for reading and learning among young minds in her community.

Her work is backed by the Nal’ibali campaign in association with the Letsatsi solar park trust and came about after she applied and embarked on the journey to help bring about change.

Her days are filled with organising literacy events, distributing books, and inspiring communities to get involved. As a result, she’s not only uplifting children but also embodying the power of making dreams come true.

“Nal’ibali has helped me grow both personally and professionally, and I am committed to helping the children of Dealesville dream big and fly high,” Nthabiseng said per Good Things Guy.

Her newfound sense of purpose enables her to help Dealesville’s children dream big and soar to new heights. Her story is a shining example of how one person’s passion can spark positive change in their community.
