‘I have condoms in every facet of my world’

By Staff writer

In leaked audio recordings between Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa and her lover’s wife, Valentine Bango, Black Coffee’s estranged wife says she has condoms in every room as well as in her car.

The Tshisa actress was responding to a question from Bango about whether she used protection when she had sex with him.

A few weeks ago, Bango publicly accused Mlotshwa of having an affair with her husband, and said the two had proposed a polygamous marriage between the three.

She made it clear that she was not interested in a polygamous marriage.

In the leaked audio that appears to be a recorded conversation between the two women, Bango asks Mlotshwa if there had been times when the two did not use protection during their affair.

“No, I have condoms in every facet of my world, in my car right now there’s condoms,” Mlotshwa told her.

Bango then notes how instead of leaving her, he offered Mlotshwa to be a second wife.

“I’m not even divorced yet, how would I ask for something like that?” responds Mlotshwa.

In the audio clips that trended on Twitter, the wife says she asked her husband if Mlotshwa had been to their house.

She replied that she had been to their house once during a braai. She also noted that the two share business ventures together.

Some cultures in South Africa require a husband to ask for permission to take a second wife from his first wife before engaging in a romantic relationship with the potential third party.

“Understand this: you guys are sleeping together, that’s a whole different step on its own,” Bango said.

Mlotshwa said she did her research on polygamy through watching TV shows and through personal friends in polygamous relationships, and she understands how news of polygamy “needed to be received at home first”.

She said she understands how the affair could have bothered Bango.

“I know that feeling, that’s not a feeling I want someone to go through. Which is why I kept silent. And I took it in and I took your pain in and I completely understood where you were coming from,” said Mlotshwa.

Despite this, she said she told him, “let’s try”.
