Mzansi Magic’s Rockville actress Thabisile Zikhali says she had to abandon her marriage to a pastor to follow her acting career.

Thabisile, 27, who appeared in The Queen in the role of a private investigator said that she left her marriage because she wanted to follow her dream.

“I got into that marriage at an early age and I was still trying to find myself. It was not a matter of being a fallen angel but I decided to walk away from it to follow my dream of becoming an actor.

“At some stage I felt like I made a wrong decision by walking away from my marriage to a pastor,” said the Pietermaritzburg born actress.

Thabisile will play the role of Sweetie in Rockville Season 5 and says she was grateful for all the opportunities.

She studied acting at the Duma kaNdlovu’s Academy and graduated there in 2019.

“After my graduation God has been good to me. I have grown as an actress and I’m confident about my acting skills,” said Thabisile who began her acting career with Bioskop movies.

In 2020 Thabisile got the break of her life when she got a role from a movie called Alleyway Film where she plays a lead role along with legendary actors Luthuli Dlamini and Jack Devnarain.

“It was an honour for me to get an opportunity to act in the same movie with people like Luthuli Dlamini and Jack Devnarain as I grew up watching them on TV. It has always been my dream to rub shoulders with the best actors in the country.

“People must expect the unexpected in the Sweetie character in Rockville. Sweetie will leave many viewers wanting more, that I can guarantee you,” she said.

Asked if there is a chance for her to walk down the aisle again Thabisile said:

“At the moment I’m married to my career, maybe when I’m about 40 years and above.”
