HEROES 8: Linda Twala – caring for the poor, the sick and the hungry

For more than five decades, Linda Twala has been the hope for many desperate people in Alexandra and other parts of the country.

During the darkest days of apartheid, he helped the families of those killed in the struggle to bury their loved ones. And he gave food and clothing to families who needed it most.

In 2020, Covid was his new enemy, and once again he rode to the rescue of the residents of Alexandra.

This time he was 76 years old, and he did it dressed in full personal protective equipment (PPE).

Bab’uTwala was out and about giving food packages to the most vulnerable and PPE to communities in Alexandra, Diepsloot, Soweto, Tembisa, Honeydew, and Vosloorus.

A true hero of the people!
