- Gift Kubeka wins Mrs Soweto 2025 and a brand new Renault Kiger.
- The entrepreneur and activist was celebrated for beauty, strength and community work.
Soweto has a new queen, Gift Kubeka walked away with the Mrs Soweto 2025 crown at a glamorous ceremony held at the Soweto Theatre on Saturday night.
The 42-year-old entrepreneur, brand ambassador and activist beat more than 10 finalists to take the title. She also drove off in a brand-new Renault Kiger and received gifts from MSC Cruises.
Kubeka, who was also a runner-up in the Mrs Globe SA competition in 2022, is well known for her work in the fight against gender-based violence.
The Mrs Soweto pageant is open to women aged 25 and older who are married or have children.
Once again, founder Tshegofatso Mathe’s dream came to life in a night filled with beauty, empowerment and inspiration.
Co-director Tandi Potgieter shared a heartfelt message on Instagram: “This is such an incredible achievement, and I want to take the opportunity to celebrate you for not only your beauty but for your strength, grace and dedication.”
“Your hard work, resilience and commitment to your community have truly shone through,” she said.
Kubeka will be joined by Naeema Isaacs as the first princess and Linda Zwanel as the second princess.
The judges included actress Sophie Ndaba, Mrs SA 2023 Palesa Matjekane and TV producer Simphiwe Majola.
