- A Khayelitsha woman says a ghost enters her shack between 1am and 3am every night and leaves human waste on the floor.
- The woman says the ghost is linked to a man who died in the shack years ago and now haunts her home.
She bought the shack in 2023 for R10,000 because she wanted peace and privacy.
But soon after moving in, her nights changed completely.
The Khayelitsha woman says a ghost now visits her shack between 1am and 3am. She says she hears footsteps, feels heat in the room and smells human waste.
When she switches on the light, she sees nothing. But in the morning, she wakes up to waste on the floor.
Some days, she finds it smeared across the room. She says she later learnt that a man died in the shack years ago during a fight over a woman.
She believes his spirit is the one haunting her. “There’s no peace here. I am being terrorised by a ghost. I’m tired of cleaning up after a ghost,”
She says neighbours gave her many ideas on how to chase it away. She tried hanging dirty underwear.
She tried swearing at the ghost. But she says nothing worked. “Some nights, it comes back angrier and messier,” she said.
She says she now feels trapped and is running out of patience. “If it carries on like this, I’ll have to sell the shack.
But I’ll tell the next person the truth.”
