- After freezing mornings and grey skies, Johannesburg and Pretoria will see clearer, milder days with no sign of rain.
- Temperatures will hit the low 20s by midday, with calm winds and dry conditions making it perfect for a picnic or stroll.
After a week of icy weather, Gauteng is in for a much better weekend.
The South African Weather Service says the province will enjoy cool but clear conditions on Saturday and Sunday.
In Johannesburg, Saturday morning will start at a crisp 8°C before warming to 18°C in the afternoon. It will cool down to around 14°C by evening, with humidity between 40% and 55%. Light winds are expected all day, and no rain is forecast.
Pretoria will be a little warmer. The capital will begin at 9°C and reach 20°C later in the day. It will also stay dry with sunny skies.
Sunday will follow the same trend. Johannesburg will begin the day at 9°C and climb to a high of 19°C. There might be a few clouds in the evening, but nothing to worry about. Winds will stay gentle.
Pretoria will again be the warmest spot, starting in the high single digits and peaking at 21°C. Skies will stay clear and dry.
It is a welcome break after the biting cold earlier this week. Whether it’s a park visit, a family braai, or just soaking up some sun, Gauteng residents can enjoy a fine winter weekend.
