A former Mamelodi Sundowns player has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
The footballer, who cannot be named as he has not yet appeared in court to enter a plea, will spend the night in the cold cells of Sebenza police station near Kempton Park.
A source close to the star told Scrolla.Africa that he was arrested for domestic violence at his home on Tuesday afternoon after his girlfriend laid criminal charges against him.
He added that the suspect’s girlfriend alleged that he assaulted her at their home.
“She opened a case at Sebenza police station. Police arrested him and he will appear in court in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.”
