Former Black Motion member, Bongani “Murdah” Mahosana, has been accused of housebreaking and theft by his former record label boss Moses Mokgokgo.
It is alleged that Mahosana, who is also known for being the spouse of DJ Zinhle, allegedly ransacked the house while the owners of the house were away on gigs.
Sources who spoke to Scrolla.Africa said Murdah wanted to take ownership of the songs he pre-recorded before splitting with Black Motion to pursue a solo career.
“Maybe he’s still being owed some money by the record label. That’s why he has resorted to taking away the equipment,” said another source.
A case was opened against Mahosana at the Olievenhoutbosch police station last week.
In a statement to the police, Mokgokgo accuses Mahosana of breaking into his house in Centurion, Pretoria. The house was allegedly used as an office and a studio. Mokgokgo says Mahosana took studio monitors, a television set, computer hard drives, and a mixing desk.
When contacted for a comment, Mahosana referred Scrolla.Africa to his lawyer, Neo Mashele.
“We can’t say much because we heard a case against my client has been opened,” said Mashele.
Gauteng SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Noxolo Kweza, confirmed Mokgokgo had opened a case against Mahosana, but no arrest had been made so far.
In an interview with Kaya FM last month, Murdah said he left the group after getting annoyed when a new member, Kabelo “Problem Child” Koma, was added without his knowledge.
Mahosana and Thabo “Smol” Mabogwane are co-founders of the group behind hits including “Rainbow”, “Uwrongo”, and “The Journey”.
