A fly that landed on US Vice President Mike Pence’s head in front of millions of people on Wednesday night stole the show.
Pence was debating with Kamala Harris, the vice-presidential pick of the Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
Pence was trying to do better than his boss Donald Trump whose performance at the first debate last week was described as deranged.
Days later Trump tested positive for Covid-19.
But the fly got in Pence’s way.
Within minutes social media exploded and new Twitter handles such as @MikePencesFly were up and tweeting.
“Black flies matter,” said one tweet.
Political analyst Steve Schmidt said the fly was a sign of sin and “the mark of the devil.”
The Biden campaign has started to send out Biden/Harris fly swatters.
