Liverpool were 5-2 victors over Norwich City in their FA Cup fourth round tie at Anfield on Sunday.
In their first game since manager Jurgen Klopp announced his decision to step down from the club at the end of the season, the Reds looked as bright as ever.
The German’s arrival at the ground was met by a roaring crowd, whose rendition of club anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone was enough to make their manager teary-eyed.
On the pitch, the hosts were up to the mark as well.
In a perfect display that blended youth with experience, James McConnell and Conor Bradley were the first to create some goalmouth action.
The duo set-up Curtis Jones and Darwin Nunez before and after Ben Gibson’s header levelled matters for Norwich.
Diogo Jota, Virgil Van Dijk, and Ryan Gravenberch found the back of the net for the Reds in the second period while Borja Sainz’s stunner would only be a consolation for the visitors.
The draw for the fifth round of the competition took place on Sunday as well, with the Reds set to take on either Watford or Southampton, who will face-off in their fourth round replay.
