Sakhile Ntuli refused to entertain his girlfriend of two years – and now he is dead.
Sakhile was stabbed to death, allegedly by the woman’s father, outside the family home in Leandra, Mpumalanga.
Sakhile’s brother, Prince Methula, said his brother was stabbed to death over alleged accusations of rape that had not been verified.
He said, instead of laying charges at the police station, the father chose to take matters into his own hands and ended Sakhile’s life.
“The ex-girlfriend’s father came here armed with accusations and instead of listening to Sakhile’s side of the story he just killed him clearly showing that it was his intention all along,” he said.
The man was arrested and granted bail last Monday.
“Sakhile can’t speak for himself, but I know the man is a murderer and his daughter is a liar,” said Prince.
Sakhile’s classmate Owami Ngwenya who studied with him at Gert Sibande TVET College said their class will never be the same again.
“He was always clowning around and always made sure we were laughing. However tense the situation was, he always had a way of lightening it up,” she said.
The suspect handed himself over to the police and confessed to stabbing Sakhile. He is due to appear in court on 10 June.
