Martin Jackson who escaped from Boksburg Prison during a celebration has been rearrested.
The Department of Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo confirmed that Jackson was successfully apprehended and returned to custody.
Scrolla.Africa has reliably learnt that Jackson was caught in Alberton around 4pm. The source said the convicted criminal was nabbed close to where his baby mama stays in Alberton.
After his rearrest, the inmate was taken to the nearest police station.

His daring escape has prompted the authorities to move the offender to the CMax facility.
The Department said this swift apprehension demonstrates the Departmentโs commitment in ensuring that all inmates serve their sentences as mandated by the courts.
โA full investigation is conducted to understand the circumstances surrounding the escape and to prevent future incidents. The inmate will now face additional criminal charges related to the escape.
Sources told Scrolla.Africa that Jackson escaped during the event inside the prison.
“There was an event to celebrate the new area commissioner held inside the facility. During that event, Martin Jackson managed to escape without a trace,” said the source.

Jackson was jailed for 20 years in April 2015 for robbery, theft, and illegal possession of a gun and bullets.
Before his rearrest, Nxumalo warned that the public shouldn’t approach Jackson if they see him.
“Members of the public are also advised not to approach the escapee if spotted, as he may be dangerous,” he said.
