Rapper Emtee has confirmed that his 12-year marriage to Nicole Kendall Chinsamy is over.
In a post on X on Thursday, the 31-year-old artist wrote: “Now I’m single. Time to show you I am a Goat.”
He said he wants to focus on what matters to him now — his music, his children, and his team.
Emtee, whose real name is Mthembeni Ndevu, described his marriage as “toxic” and emotionally damaging. In one post, he said he loved someone who “hates me with a passion”.
The couple have three children together and were married for more than a decade.
Some of Emtee’s posts caused concern among fans as he hinted that the situation at home had become dangerous. In one message, he asked for help.
This is not the first time the rapper has spoken about trouble in the marriage. In the past, he accused Nicole of both physical and emotional abuse. He said he felt stuck in the relationship.
In 2024, there were reports that the couple were heading for divorce. But in early 2025, rumours spread that they had reconciled, and Emtee moved back home to try and fix things.
His latest messages suggest that those efforts did not work.
Neither Emtee nor Nicole has released an official statement. But fans have expressed worry about the rapper’s mental and emotional wellbeing.
For now, Emtee says he is focusing on his children and his career — and leaving the rest behind.
