During corruption questioning Nigerian official passes out – or does he?

Daniel Pondei, the head of a Nigerian government development agency, was being grilled by a parliamentary committee.

As he was asked to explain payments to private companies that appeared irregular, he slumped forward.

He collapsed, sweating profusely, and was carried out of the hearing.

The Guardian Nigeria reported that “some members of the committee…felt Pondei’s action must have been stage-managed”.

As video clips like this circulate this week on social media, the questions have yet to be answered.
