- Five people were swept away by floods in DJ Dlala Thukzin’s hometown of Lamontville, south Durban.
- The popular DJ has called for help as his community struggles with devastating flood damage.
Heavy rains have brought death and destruction to Lamontville, the hometown of top DJ Dlala Thukzin, where five people were swept away by floods.
The well-known producer, whose real name is Thuthuka Zindlovu, watched as his community in South Durban was hit by flooding on Tuesday, forcing people to flee their homes the next day.
“Our hearts are heavy as we support the families of Lamontville and the greater KZN region who have suffered immense loss.
“To those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods, we extend our deepest sympathies. No words can ease the pain, but please know you are not alone,” he wrote on social media.
The star, known for his hit song Amagear, told TshisaLIVE he was devastated to see his neighbours suffering.
“These are hard times. Seeing people from my community go through such a tragedy is painful. In due course, we will look at how we can help,” he said.
