Riaan Swiegelaar has left the South African Satanic church – the church which he founded!
Sharing his testimony on how he found Jesus, Swiegelaar on Tuesday posted a video on Facebook to announce his resignation from the church and how he decided to turn to Jesus.
Swiegelaar successfully registered the church as a religious organisation in 2020. He was previously a Christian, then an atheist, before turning to Satanism.
In his live video he said that he turned against Satanism after recently experiencing unconditional love from Christians.
He said he had just done a radio interview in Cape Town in May when a Christian lady hugged him and he felt unconditional love.
Swiegelaar said he went home and did a ritual, a common practice in Satanism, but asked God if he really existed.
He said at that point Jesus appeared to him and flooded him with the most incredible love and energy.
He said in his life there are only four Christians who have shown him what unconditional love is.
“I want to thank you. Words can’t express what you have done for me,” he said.
“You have shown me the love of Christ. I have seen it in you.”
He said he resonated with the Satanic Church because he was a broken person.
“In the last three years, I met thousands of Satanists who all had one thing in common. They were all broken,” he said.
The Satanic Church of South Africa confirmed Swiegelaar’s resignation.
“As the Satanic Church council, we thank Swiegalaar for his contribution, both as the pastor and the co-founder of the church. We wish him success in all his future endeavours.”
