AmaZulu’s quest to end a difficult start to the 2024-25 season faces a stern test when they visit Orlando Pirates for Friday’s Premier Soccer League match at Orlando Stadium.
Usuthu have lost all their three league games this season and have also been eliminated from the Carling Knockout.
Now under co-coaches Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi, AmaZulu are desperate to pick themselves up.
But their task faces a strong challenge against Pirates who have recorded four straight PSL wins this season.
“We want our players to play without fear,” said Zwane.
“You can’t be in the Premiership and have fear of winning games, we can beat anyone.
“There are no easy games in the league and we still have a lot to do in terms of trying to make sure that there are tactical abilities in the squad and there is a tactical understanding and endurance.
“We are not worried about the opposition at the moment, we are worried about our squad. We want to get the best out of the players.”
Pirates will be up against a team that has already made adjustments to their technical team by firing Pablo Franco Martin to adopt the co-coaching set-up.
While Pirates are second on the PSL table, Usuthu are already fighting for survival at the bottom of the standings.
