- Denise Zimba has not seen her daughters Leah and Mila in over a year after a custody ruling sent them to live with their father in Germany.
- Zimba marked Mother’s Day alone, sharing a video of memories and a message to her girls saying she fights for them every day just by staying alive.
Denise Zimba did not get a call on Mother’s Day. Not even that.
The actress and mother of two has not seen her daughters, Leah and Mila, in over a year. A custody ruling sent the girls to live with their father in Germany. Zimba is still fighting in court to bring them home.
On Sunday she broke her silence on Instagram.
“Heal out loud, without shame. Didn’t even get a call… but it’s ok. GOD,” she wrote.
She posted a video filled with memories of her daughters. Photos. Clips from their childhood. Moments from the day they were born. Over it all, she recorded a message directly to her girls.
“I am, and always will be, proud of you two girls,” she said. “I fight for you every day just by staying alive.”
She said she continues to hold onto hope, pray for her daughters and remain proud of them despite the separation.
The post flooded with support. Followers sent messages of sympathy and encouragement. Others called on anyone who could help to reunite her with her children.
The legal battle continues.
