The Delhi Capitals beat the Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs on another riveting evening of Indian Premier League action.
On the ground that had witnessed the incredible in terms of first-innings scores this season, the Royals had an opportunity to chase down 222 with a chance to reclaim the top spot.
The target may have been below par in the capital; and at one stage Sanju Samson looked to be flying towards it.
Delhi pulled it back tremendously with the ball, though, dismissing Samson for 86 off 46, when none of the other batters could really find such form.
Instead, Jake Fraser-McGurk (50) and Abishek Porel (65) were able to look back on their important first innings knocks for Delhi.
The Capitals went up to 12 points on the table, ensuring the places in and around the playoff spots remained cramped up in the run-in.
On Monday, Suryakumar Yadav raced to a 51-ball century to help the Mumbai Indians to a big seven wicket win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium.
The visitors batted first, but could not quite get to the heights that had seen them win so many games this season so far.
Instead, their target of 174 was chased down with 16 balls to spare, helping Hardik Pandya’s side escape last place on the table, at least for the time being.
On Wednesday, the Sunrisers are in action again — this time at home to the Lucknow Super Giants, who are hot on Hyderabad’s heels in pursuit of a top four spot.
