South Africa hit back hard to level the one-day series against Pakistan with a dominant eight-wicket win in Faisalabad.

Quinton de Kock made a powerful return to international cricket, smashing 123 runs off 119 balls. He hit eight fours and seven sixes in his innings.

De Kock shared a 173-run partnership with Tony de Zorzi, who scored a quick 76 off 63 balls, as the Proteas chased down the target with ease.

Pakistan were bowled out for 269 in their 50 overs. Their innings never really took off after Nandre Burger tore through the top order.

Burger took four wickets for 46 runs, removing big names Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

Young bowler Nqabayomzi Peter also impressed with figures of 3/55.

Saim Ayub scored 53 and Salman Agha added 69 to steady Pakistan, while Mohammad Nawaz’s late 59 helped them reach a respectable total.

The deciding match will be played at the same ground on Saturday, with both sides eyeing the series win.
