A last-second Darwin Nunez winner got Liverpool over the line on a tricky away day at Nottingham Forest.
It was a record breaking last-grasp winner as the Reds assured the rest of the Premier League of their title aspirations, going four points clear at the summit with a 1-0 win.
Nunez’s winner saw him score Liverpool’s 43rd goal by a substitute this season, more than any other side in Europe’s top five leagues.
The goal was also the 18th last minute league goal for Jurgen Klopp’s side since the German took over — more than any other Premier League club have scored in that time period.
Saturday’s goal rush also saw Tottenham Hotspur rescue three points against Crystal Palace with a 3-1 win, while Chelsea’s woes continued with a 2-2 draw away at Brentford.
West Ham beat Everton 3-1 while Fulham and Newcastle were both 3-0 victors over Brighton and Wolves respectively.
In the late game, Ollie Watkins scored a brace to help Aston Villa overcome Luton Town 3-2.
On Sunday all eyes will be on Manchester as City host United after Burnley tackle Bournemouth in the earlier game. Arsenal will face Sheffield United on Monday night football.
