A dangerous suspect is currently on the loose in Limpopo after escaping from the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning as he was about to make his court appearance.

The suspect has been identified as Pfunzo Ramafamba, who is facing attempted murder and kidnapping charges.

His disappearance remains a mystery as he is alleged to have escaped under the watchful eye of law enforcement officials.

According to Vhembe police spokesperson Vuledzani Dathi, the suspect is dangerous, and the police are trying to find him.

“We still do not know how he managed to escape but our investigations are ongoing and currently police are on the ground trying to locate the whereabouts of the suspect,” said Dathi.

Dathi has called on the public to alert the police if they come across the suspect.

“We are pleading with the public to come forward with any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect to contact us as soon as possible so that he can be re-arrested and brought back to custody,” said Dathi.

Dathi has also cautioned the public not to take the law into their own hands if they see the suspect.

“Those who happen to come across the suspect must not confront him as he might be dangerous, but they should contact their nearest police station or call the police number,” said Dathi.

Last month, Scrolla.Africa reported that a 37-year-old murder suspect died in hospital despite being monitored by law enforcement officials in Thohoyandou.
