Polokwane – A man from Ritavi Village who raped 19 women will spend 98 years in jail. Ronny Maluleke, 36, admitted to breaking into homes at night to rape and rob women between 2015 and 2021. He also lured victims on Facebook by promising them security and domestic work jobs, then attacked them when they came to meet him.
Elukwatini – Police killed one suspect and wounded two others in a shootout after they robbed a filling station in Mpumalanga. The men had stolen cash, cigarettes and betting vouchers. Police tracked them to a rented room where the shootout occurred. They found cash and a gun at the scene. The wounded suspects are in hospital under police guard.
Bushbuckridge – A taxi boss was shot dead at his business in Dwarsloop on Wednesday. Justice Dusty Madala, who led the National Federated Long and Local Distance Taxi Association (FELLDTA), died in hospital after the shooting. Police don’t know why he was killed and are investigating.
Kraaifontein – Seven people aged 24 to 49 were arrested for mob justice killings in Wallacedene. They allegedly killed three men they accused of housebreaking and robbery in Kraaifontein. The suspects will appear in the Blue Downs court.
Welkom – The Anti-Gang Unit arrested two men, aged 23 and 35, with drugs. After receiving a tip-off about drugs being taken to Flamingo Park, Sergeant Thabang Thesele’s team found 80 Mandrax tablets in their car. The suspects will face court soon.
