Western Cape police arrested four men suspected of having stolen goods after they were found with items from Takealot.
Members of the Maitland Flying Squad tracked a suspicious vehicle wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Grassy Park on Tuesday.
Western Cape SAPS spokesperson Anelisiwe Manyana said the members found the vehicle with one suspect.
When they searched the vehicle, they found a television and a fridge. The suspect could not provide a valid explanation for where he had got the items.
“Upon further investigation, the police found another vehicle implicated in a Takealot robbery in Kuilsriver,” said Manyana.
Police also found the place where other items were stored. They arrested three suspects aged between 20 and 35 on the property. They also confiscated the stolen property and the vehicles.
Once charged, the arrested suspects will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court.
In a separate incident, the provincial counterfeit and illicit goods task team members caught and arrested more thieves.
Members visited various cellular telephone shops and wholesalers in the area, during which they seized 231 pouches containing Apple cellphones, cellphone adaptors, and USB cables.
The products were estimated to have a value of R47,870.
An enquiry was registered for further investigation. No arrests were made.
