Three members of a blue-light gang were arrested in Brakpan on Wednesday. They were found with firearms and police uniforms and are suspected of involvement in various robberies and murders.

Gauteng traffic police, wardens and the Ekurhuleni metro police department (EMPD) arrested the gang on the R23.

Ekurhuleni metro police spokesperson Ignatius Mapike said the suspects were travelling in a silver VW Polo hatchback with false number plates.

Mapike said the men are suspected to be linked to other cases of robbery and murder.
