· A planned business robbery in Johannesburg turned into a shootout, leaving one suspect dead, another arrested and Moyo on the run again.
· Police say Moyo escaped from custody earlier this year and believe he is behind the murders of two officers being probed by the Hawks.
Police are searching for fugitive Jabulani Moyo after he escaped during a shootout in Cosmo City, Johannesburg. He had been cornered by officers during a joint operation on Saturday.
Moyo, who previously escaped from police custody, is suspected of murdering two officers. He is still on the run.
Gauteng police were acting on a tip-off that a group of suspects were planning to rob businesses in Honeydew and Fairlands. They spotted two vehicles matching the description they were given, a white Volkswagen Polo and a grey Audi.

As police moved in, the suspects jumped out and opened fire. Officers shot back.
According to Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, two of the suspects fled in the Polo while the others ran on foot.
Police chased the Polo into Cosmo City. When it stopped, one man got out and fired at officers. He was shot dead. Another suspect was arrested at the scene. Moyo escaped.
Masondo said both men who were shot or arrested were foreign nationals. He confirmed that the man killed during the shootout was not Moyo.
Police say several operations have been carried out to capture Moyo, who is considered dangerous.
“We suspect he is one of those who escaped. Our members are still on the ground following up on intelligence,” said Masondo.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the murders of the two police officers, who Moyo is suspected of shooting, is being handled by the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, also known as the Hawks.
