Carlos Tevez, the former Manchester United and Manchester City star, was hospitalised in Buenos Aires after experiencing chest pains.
The 40-year-old football legend, who now manages the Argentine top-flight club Independiente, was taken to La Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro for medical attention.
According to statements from Independiente, Tevez spent the night in hospital and is set to undergo further tests at Finochietto Hospital as part of a scheduled general check-up.
Daily Mail reported that the initial test results were acceptable, but he will remain hospitalised as a precaution until all tests are completed.
Tevez’s health concerns are said to be linked to stress, and he is said to suffer from high blood pressure.
This incident follows a previous hospitalisation last year due to a domestic accident.
The situation has raised concerns about his immediate future in coaching, especially after he recently suspended a press conference following Independiente’s exit from a cup competition.
