Being isdudla or a plus size woman is no longer a shame.
That is what Siphosihle Mceta aka Baby Joe and Bulelani Jada aka King Jade are preaching in their new amapiano single Confident Relevant Sdudla.
In 2016 they featured Busiswa on their song Ubestrong Ubehappy. Their music genre ranges from house, afro house, gospel house, amapiano to Kwaito.
The two from Despatch in the Eastern Cape are also lovers and have a daughter together.
Now they have brought hope to many chubby women who were depressed with their bodies.
Baby Joe told Scrolla.Africa: “Gone are the days when chubby women had to stress themselves because of their big bodies.
“There is no need to be worried about summer bodies. Covid-19 has disrupted everything and women didn’t get a chance to exercise. Many are frustrated because they cannot afford the expensive diets.”
The 26-year-old said skinny women are also stressed about their bodies.
“We released this song last month because we noticed that some of the skinny women are frustrated with their bodies. They want to be as big and confident as we are.”
Baby Joe said since she released the song she has received a lot of support.
“My inbox is flooded with messages of appreciation from all over the country. Many of my fans say I instill confidence in them especially when I make my dance moves on stage.
“I am happy to be making a big difference in their lives. As a result on social media many plus size women are posting their photos and are dressing nicely with confidence.”
The duo are in the process of shooting a video for the song.
