Three young boys are traumatised after a man allegedly sexually abused them when they went to his house for a free haircut in Duduza, Ekurhuleni.

The boys, aged 8, 11 and 13, were allegedly molested on Sunday after the man offered to cut their hair when their mothers couldn’t afford a barber.

“The suspect who stays near the tavern offered to cut their hair at his home for free. We welcomed the gesture as it was nearby and didn’t suspect that he would violate our children,” said one mother.

After two hours passed, the parents went to check on their children. The man was still busy with the haircuts.

Later that day, the eight-year-old told his mother what had happened. “My son revealed that the suspect forced them to touch his breast, and rubbed his private parts on their faces while the others were forced to watch.”

The mother confronted the man, but he denied everything. They then opened a case with the police.

The children now live in fear as their alleged attacker walks free. They refuse to play in the streets or walk to school alone.

“These children need counselling to overcome what they were exposed to. We are pleading to the legal system not to fail our children,” said one of the mothers.

Her son has been having nightmares and has kept to himself since the alleged attack.

Captain Nelda Sekgobela from Ekurhuleni SAPS confirmed they are investigating a sexual offence case.
