Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will clash in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals while TS Galaxy and Richards Bay completed the last-eight draw on Sunday.
TS Galaxy edged Chippa United 1-0 courtesy of Dzenan Zajmovic’s goal in extra time as the match appeared headed for a penalty shootout at Mbombela Stadium.
It was some reprieve for the Rockets who went into Sunday’s match against the backdrop of losing four matches in the MTN8 and Premier Soccer League.
At King Goodwill Zwelithino Stadium, Richards Bay also recorded a slim 1-0 victory over Sekhukhune United.
Midfielder Lwandile Mabuya scored three minutes before half-time to hand the Natal Rich Boyz victory after going for three games without winning.
After that, Richards Bay got Cape Town City in the quarter-finals and the KwaZulu-Natal side will be at home at a date to be announced by the PSL.
TS Galaxy will also be at home and they will host Orlando Pirates slayers Magesi FC in the last-eight.
The other quarter-final fixture will feature Marunmo Gallants and defending champions Stellenbosch with the former being at home.
However, the pick of this round will be the Chiefs and Sundowns clash which could be regarded as a final before the final.
The two traditional giants meet for the second time this season after Masandawana beat Amakhosi 2-1 in a PSL match on 28 September at FNB Stadium.
The Glamour Boys will be at home again and both teams go into this match after recording big scoreline victories in the round of 16.
