Chelsea Football Club and manager Thomas Tuchel have parted ways.
This was confirmed by the club after last night’s Uefa Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.
“Chelsea FC would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the club,” said the club statement on the official website.
“Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach. There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.”
The Blues have struggled in recent weeks despite doing their fair share of business in the transfer window.
They currently have 10 points from their opening six league games and the decision was made following a 1-0 upset in their opening Champions League game last night.
The German took the Chelsea job in January last year and won the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup during his tenure.
