After a disappointing performance at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, South Africa’s favourite swimmer will have to rely on his girlfriend, Jeanni Mulder,  to bring home a medal – at the Miss SA 2021 pageant.

Chad le Clos congratulated his beloved, a 24-year-old model from Sea Point, Cape Town, on Instagram, saying that he is “proud” she made it to the top ten finalists in the country.

The final ten were announced by Miss South Africa and Miss World 2014, Rolene Strauss, exclusively on the Miss SA YouTube Channel on Tuesday.

Among the finalists is Lalela Mswane, a 34-year-old model and dancer from Richards Bay, KwaZulu Natal, who graduated from the University of Pretoria.

Also competing for the top prize is Bianca Bezuidenhout, a 22-year-old dance instructor and business owner of a swimwear company called She Succeeds who’s from the Western Cape.

Dr. Moratwe Masima is also contending for the crown. She is a 25-year-old medical doctor and YouTuber from Johannesburg.

The winner of Miss SA will be announced in a historically prestigious event which will be held at the Grand West Arena on Saturday, 16 October in Cape Town.

“It is a real privilege for us to be welcoming @Official_MissSA back to Cape Town, after hosting the 62nd edition last year,” said the Executive Mayor of Cape Town Dan Plato, upon hearing the news of the finalists via the City’s twitter account.

Other top ten finalists include Catherine Groenewald, Cheneil Hartznberg, Kayla Matthews, Kgothatso Dithebe, Tiffany Francis and Zimi Mabunzi.

The crowning of Miss SA will be broadcast live on the M-Net and Mzansi Magic satellite television channels.
