Businessman and musician Cassper Nyovest, whose real name is Refiloe Phoolo, has announced the launch of his liquor brand called Balliato, named after his long-time twitter nickname, “Don Billiato”.
“Mr Fill Up”, as he is affectionately known, said he will be launching both the liquor which, according to the slogan, contains “a touch of wealth”, at the end of November.
Even though Nyovest’s fans still don’t know what kind of liquor is inside a bottle of Balliato, they can’t wait to taste the “luxury” inside.
Many took to social media to congratulate the rapper after he shared the news this week.
“No time for Henny,” commented one fan, referring to Hennessy, the high-end cognac.
The release of Balliato will coincide with Nyovest’s release of a new colour scheme of his Root of Fame Sneakers, following his R100 million partnership with Drip Footwear. Drip is a successful South African sneaker brand founded by Lekau Sehoana from Ivory Park in 2003.
Meanwhile his recording stable, Family Tree Records, was allegedly served with a final letter of demand by the South African Revenue Service, which demanded the company pay more than R135,000 in uncollected taxes, reported City Press in October 2021.
Since then there have been no reports of assets being seized from the recording label, which has produced big hip hop artists like Tshego and Nadia Nakai.
