Cassper Nyovest — ‘I was addicted to sex’

Mzansi’s rap heavyweight Cassper Nyovest has come clean about a secret that almost ruined his life: his sex addiction.

The “Tito Mboweni” hitmaker, who took the plunge (quite literally) into holy waters earlier this year to get baptised, confessed that his addictions were leading him straight to hell before he turned to God.

Opening his heart, Cassper shared how his addiction affected his life, especially with his baby mama, Thobeka Majozi.

The duo, who’ve been on the outs for a couple of years, couldn’t weather the storm of Cass’s addictions.

“I hurt my baby mama so much. We broke up.” Cassper told Zimoja Lezinto. “God was showing me that I was destroying myself with sexual relationships. You’re having difficulties with women because you only see one thing. I was addicted to sex. I was addicted to sexual immorality in general.”

Turning a new leaf, Cassper —  real name Refilwe Phoolo — is now singing praises to the heavens for pulling him out of the fiery pit of passion.

The rapper, known for his hefty ego and hit tracks, said he realised he was on a dangerous path.

“God was showing me I was destroying myself,” he said.

“I thought I was better than everyone else.”

“Everybody has to figure out their own salvation,” he told Sunday World. “I had to know God for myself. I had to have that encounter with him, which was very hard. My version of success right now is humility and being able to obey God.”
