Luyolo Slatsha may be one of South Africa’s most talented young footballers, but the rising star is also going big in the field of real estate.
The 22-year-old is excelling as an entrepreneur just as much as he does on the football pitch. But just how difficult is it to get results on two career fronts?
For the past two years, the Cape Town City midfielder has been investing in the real estate business ā something that is part of setting up his retirement plan.
āI know it was always going to be a challenging task for me, but these are two passions that I chose to chase at the same time. For football, I need about six hours a day, and I can dedicate the rest of the hours to entrepreneurship,ā Slatsha said in an interview with FARPost.
He added that the two careers work hand-in-hand, with football the path that takes the pressure off him.
āMy goal is to be a better person, and to be honest; these two have been complementing each other because when I am training and playing football, I ease off all the pressure and stress that comes with being an entrepreneur.
āHow we endure on the field of play has been a big influence on how I endure in business as a young person. To be honest, it can only get better with time, but with dedication, we can shape the future.”
As much as the multi-career format has worked for him, Slatsha emphasises that entrepreneurship is something he is doing more to set himself up for after his football career.
āI know that this is an odd combination of jobs, but I feel like entrepreneurship will carry my ambitions even after my football career ends. Right now, I am 22; I believe itās the right time for me to secure my future as a sportsman,ā he said.
